Assessment activity examples: (relating to Lesson Plans: 18 to 21)

Cambs Agreed Syllabus:

Pupils will show evidence that they:
use appropriate specialist vocabulary to communicate what they have learned about Christianity and other principal religions;
Example of activities:
Pupils are given a prayer or piece of writing which includes some specialist vocabulary. They are asked to do a literacy type activity highlighting specialist vocabulary explaining meanings and concepts in context, or do a piece of written work using some of words listed.
The children should continue their ongoing project on the Christian Faith.
Add this to the JESUS section:
(d) Write in your own words the story surrounding Palm Sunday.
Where do 'palms' come into it? What was different about Jesus riding on a donkey?
What happened when Jesus went into the Temple, & what did He think of the religious leaders? What is a 'hypocrite'?
(e) Write about what led to Jesus' death:
[1] Judas betrayed Jesus. How did he do that?
[2] Jesus' trial. This was held all through Thursday night & into the early morning, what was it like?
What were the charges brought against Jesus? What is 'blasphemy'? How did they treat Jesus?
What did the Roman Governor, Pilate, think about Jesus? What did Jesus say about Himself being a King?
[3] Jesus was crucified by the Roman soldiers. How could this be a part of God's plan? Include in your answer that God wanted to save people from their guilt, and that this is for anybody who believes in Jesus Christ and what He did. What happened when Jesus was on the cross and when He died? What did the Roman Centurion soldier think?
[4] Jesus' body was put in a grave. Describe what it was like and why there were guards there.
(f) The resurrection of Jesus from the dead. What happened to the guards? Who went and discovered the empty tomb and what happened? When Jesus showed Himself to His disciples as risen from the dead, what proof did He show that He wasn't a ghost. What did He remind them about His suffering, death and resurrection from the dead, and what message did He say would be told to all nations?
(g) The sayings of Jesus that helped to describe Himself: What can we learn about Jesus from these?

(h) Write about the expected return of Jesus Christ again and the end of the world.
