Assessment activity examples: (relating to Lesson Plans: 1 to 4)

Cambs Agreed Syllabus:
Pupils will show evidence that they:
are beginning to recognise the unique features of individual religions as well as developing the awareness of the characteristics common to religions;
Example of activities:
Pupils look at some pictures of a church and point out features which would only be found in a Christian place of worship. They then compare these with pictures of e.g. a mosque or urdwara, and identify some similarities and differences.

Get the children to start an ongoing project on the Christian Faith.
(The underlined titles will start to form the different sections).
The children will need to about these things:
CHURCH
(a) What is Church? (Include the 2 meanings of the word 'church' = people & building).
(b) Church layouts, & items.
(c) The different elements of a church service. (Worship, singing songs, prayer, hearing from God).
(d) A church service, & a Communion service.
THE BIBLE
(a) Layout of the Bible. (Old & New Testaments, number of books, different translations).
(b) Different styles of writings. (History, gospel, songs poetry & prayers, laws, wise sayings, letters, prophecy).
(c) How to describe the invisible God.
