Considering attitudes to personal, social & global issues...
AT1 Listen to a Christian talking about what being a Christian means to them.
AT2 Consider the importance of values to themselves & others.
RESOURCES:
Organise a visitor to come to the school:
Look up 'Places of Worship' in the Yellow Pages & ask for a volunteer (preferably not the Minister, Vicar, or Church leader) to answer questions on "How is your Christian faith expressed through action into the community."
Send the 'Sheet of Questions'.
STARTER & MAIN TEACHING:
Ask the visitor the questions on the sheet.

Have a time of informal questions from the children for the visitor to answer.

PLENARY:
If appropriate finish the session with these two questions for the children to answer:
Q. How important are values to you & other people? Discuss
Q. What could people work out about your beliefs from observing your behaviour?
Either take a short time to discuss this, or leave it with them.
