Our Biblical 'correctness'

Let's look at an example, that may show how we, unknowingly fall into the trap of believing that our group, or denomination, is the only one to be getting it right!
Two imaginary people; Barry has been baptised, by being fully immersed in water. Alec was baptised as a baby, and was confirmed as a young adult.
Both have a real faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Both see themselves as being baptised.
What right has Barry, to look down on Alec, because he hasn't been baptised the way, Barry thinks it should be done?
When Barry meets Alec, along with his other Anglican friends, he feels superior, because he just cannot accept, that Alec is baptised the Biblical way.
Now, we are talking about attitudes here, so I don't want to talk about baptism, other than to say, that there is not, an exact description of how it should be carried out in the Bible.
In any case, God is not interested in some ritual, that has got to be precisely acted out.
The all important thing, is that persons faith, and their walk with God.
What right have we got to think; 'I am better than you, because I have done this, or that.'
It is much, much better to help, and work with those other people.
And certainly not to work against them.
Jesus told His disciples, that if they just gave a cup of water, they would be rewarded.
I believe that there are going to be some real surprises in heaven, when Jesus reads out the 'honours list'.
We think it's going to have all the Christian 'superstars' on it, all the ones that are most prominent in leadership, etc.
I'm not saying their names won't be on it, but I think there will be many to which we will respond; 'Wow, I never knew that they were doing that, they seemed to be so much out of the spot light.'
Giving a cup of water to someone who needs refreshment, will be rewarded.
The Lord will say:
"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers, and sisters of Mine, you did for Me."
We don't have to be under the spotlight.
If we get on with being humble, and serving the Lord, there will be a rich reward for us.
Jesus said;
"Whoever humbles Himself like this child, is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:4)
Have you noticed when very young children play together, they don't see if their playmates have got designer clothes on or not. They wouldn't say; 'I'm not playing with you, you haven't got Addidas trainers on!'
One child could be in rags, and the other in silks, and they wouldn’t mind at all!
Paul wrote:
"Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited."
(Romans 12:16)
See part 4 the benefits of being humble.
